PS3 Firmware 1.94 Update Ships with Ratchet & Clank

Those who have picked up Ratchet & Clank Future may have noticed it includes a firmware update to version 1.94. The primary addition 1.94 makes is support for last-gen technology – er, the DualShock 3 and its rumbling goodness.

This is a feature that Ratchet is built to support, although you’ll actually need a DualShock 3 to take advantage of it. By pressing the PS button on your controller, you’ll see an option to toggle rumble on and off, assuming you’ve already installed the firmware update, of course.

While the firmware is not yet available for download, it seems likely that it’ll be released soon if it’s already shipping with a game. With the DualShock 3 set for release next month in Japan, do you plan on importing?
