Project Origin Trailer: Picking the New Name of F.E.A.R.

Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming sequel to F.E.A.R., now called “Project Origin.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t show any gameplay or reveal any new information about the game itself. It does however show one of the review sessions the team had to choose among the many submissions for the name to the sequel. It’s actually pretty funny to watch some of the ridiculous names that were rejected; many of which were obviously meant as a joke.

One of my submissions actually showed up on the screen in the video so at least I know it was considered despite it being entered fairly late in the contest. The contest submission form provided no real feedback that an entry had been accepted, and since Monolith ended up choosing such bland and obvious names for the finalists, it made me wonder if the contest was simply a random pick of a few early entries.
In any case hopefully the game itself will be far better than the bland, unimaginative sequel its name suggests.
yeah, gotta admit i saw a few names on the board that sounded a bit more dramatic and powerful, like the franchise itself. still, good name or no, i’ll bet the sequel will be awesome.
