Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada says that his new Wii exclusive Project O, will be a single-player life-sim set in Europe. The game is being developed by Marvelous Entertainment, or what Wada calls the ’seven samurai of the gaming world’, who as we all know worked on Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy titles. The list of these game geniuses reads like a “who’s who” of the gaming world:
- Executive Producer: Yasuhiro Wada (Harvest Moon)
- Producer: Yoshirou Kimura (Harvest Moon, Chulip)
- Character Design: Hideo Minaba (Final Fantasy XII)
- Monster Design: Kazuyuki Kurashima (Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)
- Game Design: Norikazu Yasunaga (World Neverland)
- Director: Youichi Kawaguchi (Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King)
- Composer: Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts series, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)
Project O is the title so far, until they come up with a new one. Although it has been reported that it may end up being called King’s Story, this is untrue; and despite the low-budget porn sound of the working title, ideas are still being tossed about as to what this should be called.
MORE DETAILS AND SCREENSHOTS AFTER THE BREAK
Project O is a life-sim game where the gamer plays a King named Corobo, who creates the world around him from ground-level. The game’s only similarity to Harvest Moon, will be the relationships Corobo forms with the community. As King, you will select a person to perform certain tasks while you go talk to others who will start to change the world around Corobo.
Storyline:
In a small village, there was this little timid young boy named Corobo. He was often lonely and too shy to make friends until one day when he received a mysterious crown. This crown had a mysterious power. The power “to charm people and make them follow any orders”.
Game:
Is it really fun to be a King? It is fun to see everyone work as one for you and to see your Kingdom getting bigger and bigger. Is it hard to be a King? To have a prosperous kingdom, you have to make difficult decisions that will affect everyone’s life. This is your story, the story of a King!
People:
There are many different people living in the kingdom with different jobs, ages, and genders. Some are handsome, some can be cynical, there are serious traders or lazy soldiers but if the King gives an order, they all know that they have to follow it!!
There have been three monsters revealed for the game, the Human Mushroom, the Spicy Dragon, and the Radish Head Kabu. No word on other monsters, or what these particular ones do - but one thing is for sure, they are very interesting looking. One of the things that will make this worth playing is your pal Howzer the Bull Knight and his bull Pancho. Howzer travels the land looking for the true king, which by all accounts is your character Corobo. There is also Princess Apricot, who apparently wants to be queen. I can see her wearing on the nerves pretty quick.
Wi-Fi and multiplayer will not options with Project O, but gamers will be able to download new content via the Wii. Expect this title to be released sometime in 2008, and be sure to check back often for more updates and media as it arrives. Until then go over to the official website, which just launched yesterday, to satisfy your curiosity. This is definitely looking like an interesting and fun game already, and when any game has cows with wings, it is alright in my book. If it is developed by Marvelous Entertainment, that just makes it even better!

he refers to marvelous entertaiment as the "seven samurai of the gaming world", he doesn't mean his game (which would make no sense anyway)

Oh I see. But that doesnt really make any good sense either because out of the Seven Samurai only like 3-4 we're of any quality. Also it would make sense (for the game part) as Seven Samurai revolutionized movie making.
Not arguing, just saying heh
