Problems With Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition

Many gamers are reporting serious issues with Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition. Currently, the problems being reported include issues with registration. After registering copies of the game, players are receiving an error stating “the CD key has already been registered with an account”. This is an unfortunate event and hopefully EA will comment on these issues soon. Complaints on the EA forums date back to the 17th with no updates from the company.
Here is what one perturbed gamer wrote:
Ok here’s the deal.. I just called their tech support line, waited the 1/2 hour and talked to some guy. Apparently the changes to the way EA did their site to where everything is now under your email address rather than your account name/screen name screwed things up. The guy I talked to said that my CD key is tired to my email address and not my screen name. If you were able to log into the game with your email address we’d probably all be good. Anyways, he’s now transferring my ticket to the accounts department to have my account name added to my CD key. He said this normally takes 24 to 48 hours but with all the problems with this POS game it may take upwards to a week.
After checking out EA’s customer service page, I found a few potential ways to fix the problem:
Sometimes patching or upgrading EA Download Manager can corrupt the record of your CD key.
If you encountered one of the above error messages when trying to join an online server game after upgrading or patching EA Download Manager, please try the following steps to resolve your issue (there are also files on the page you may need to download):
For Battlefield 2142 DVD edition, follow the steps below:
1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
2. Double-click the drive C:.
3. Double-click Programs Files.
4. Double-click Electronic Arts.
5. Double-click Battlefield 2142.
6. Double-click to open Support.
7. Double-click on the Battlefield 2142_code.exe file.
8. Input your Battlefield 2142 Registration Code.
Note: If you are not prompted to enter your code, skip to step 11.
9. Click Next.
10. Close My Computer.
11. Click on the Start button.
12. Click on Run.
13. Type regedit in the text field.Warning: Changes to the registry can cause your computer to operate improperly, so please follow these instructions exactly as they are written.
Follow these steps to back-up the registry so that should something go wrong, you can restore your system back to a working state:
14. Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar.
15. Select Run.
16. Type regedit into the available text field and press OK.
17. If you are using Windows 2000/XP/Vista, click on File, and select Export. Note: If you are using Windows 95/98/ME, click on Registry
18. Then select Export Registry.
19. Select All under Export Range.
20. Type backup into the File name field, and click Save.
21. Click the plus (+) sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
22. Click the plus (+) sign next to Software.
23. Click the plus (+) sign next to Electronic Arts.
24. Click the plus (+) sign next to EA Games.
25. Click the plus (+) sign next to Battlefield 2142.
26. Click on the ergc. On the right panel screen, double click on default.
27. You should see a code under Value Data.
28. Enter x9392 at left most part of the code. (eg. x9392DH34DF78WE35BV78AS69)
29. Click OK.You may now start playing the game online.
Note: These files will only work with the english-US version of the game on the Windows operating system. Your game must be installed in the default location. If you have installed Battlefield 2142 to a custom directory please use the manual instructions above.

This cd key problem happened with the standard release; it’s nothing new to 2142, though I doubt it’s going to help its name by the same problem cropping up again.
a problem of some sort with EA software? surely you jest.
This fix does not work for the Deluxe Edition. I think EA are still working on that. This only works for the normal version

I got same problem and I on the deciding whether to take my game back or not already, before it’s not to late.
Very-very disappointed, EA is going bad.
Got it solved. You need to call Customer Support at 650-572-2787 and follow computer to my account, I didn’t have to wait long. Once you talk to someone at My Account, tell them about the problem, they will have to manually set your screename to your game and CD code. Also ask them to send you your password to your email address, mine was totally different.

Got it to play, but the game sucks worst than any other game I ever got. To unlock stuff you got to get points on ranked multiplayer server. People that have every thing unlocked, have all this stuff unlocked to help them kill you noobs to unlock more stuff while you noobs get killed for points every 2 seconds. World is not fair, but I do not need a game that is not too. Save your money and time, buy something else. Same goes for Battlefield 2 and all its add-ons. VERY-VERY disappointed with EA.
Oh yeah and both of those games have almost non-existent Singleplayer modes, and you can’t unlock anything playing against computer.

Don’t worry about that. Just wait 3 minutes and the game will start, It scared me at first too.

I bought battlefield 2142 delxue, installed the game, installed fine right
went to make a new account battlefield account so i clicked new account,
it said then “contacting ea master server” after bout 30sec it said “This server is timed out please try again later” I have tried every hour for bout a day now. Does anyone no why it doesn’t work and how they can fix it

Same thing. Everything download,install,register and activate online, with message has been activated to your email address. All play fine until i try any northern strike server. Need to install error for NS. WTF?

OK, I bought BF2142 and I’m running it on a Vista machine, I’ve had a lot of problems but I’ve managed to get it running now so heres what I did;
- Download patch 1.40 and update your game befre you try to play
- Visit Evenbalance.com and download PBsvc.exe
- Ensure that you firewall/antivirus software is setup to allow both BF2142 and PbstrA.exe (this can be found in your system32 folder)
- Run PBsvc.exe, the first time you run use the ‘uninstall’ option
- Restart your machine and run PBsvc.exe again, this time using the ‘install option
- Now go back to evenbalance.com and download PBsetup, run it and add the BF2142 game using the dropdown ‘game’ menu.
- Now use the ‘update’ option to make sure your PB sftware is up to date and all good
- Finally go to your control panel and in the user/accounts menu deactivate user account control.
This should allow you to play online, it wont solve the issues with northern strike, which i’m also experiencing!
I just bought the deluxe verison of the game this friday and it won’t fudging work ,when I am at the logging section after the introduction video I type in my account name and password and it says my password has a error.I have been trying to change my password at the EA site so I could get it correct and play the game.Fudge the this error.

Ive been contemplating on whether to buy this game or not. After a couple days of researching, I concluded that most people can play regular bf2142 fine. THe problems occur when they try to activate NS. So I have a few questions:
1. If i DO buy this game and play regular BF2142 only, will there be NS players playing with me as well or is that not possible. I ask this because i find it unfair if they can play with reg bf2142 players, hence they have the extra unlocks and what not.
2. Assuming I am able to activate NS and play it (which i highly doubt since so many people failed to do so), are there even servers hosting NS anymore? I check on game-monitor.com and when i check NS servers, there are none hosting it. So perhaps i should buy deluxe edition to play regular?
Please tell me what you guys think. I dont wanna pay 20-30 bucks for a faulty game that cant even run. Thx

my problem is that when i install the game it runs fine but i close and i wanna play again and when i try to start a single game it quits and says that the game have a error so i have to uninstall the game and install it again so i could play someone could tell what to do plz?

and dewon you have an easy fix, right click on your bf2142 icon and click run as administrator that should allow you to install the patch.
So, I owned BF2142 (regular edition) and upgraded to the Deluxe so I could play Northern Strike and get the unlocks. I had tried to order NS before on EA’s site but it didn’t work. I gave up after several hours of trying everything I could think of.
Now that I have the Deluxe Edition, have installed it and tried to get into one of the NS maps, it says I have to go to EA’s site and buy it again.
I ALREADY BOUGHT THE DAMNED THING!
Does anyone know how to kick the game to get it to work with Northern Strike?
