INFOCOMM Asia Holdings (IAH) has just started the Pre-Open Beta Testing of the hit Korean MMORPG, Granada Espada. This will be the first English version of the game available for download. Never heard of it? I don’t blame you since this is its first foray stateside. However the game has garnered a widespread following in Korea, Thailand, and Singapore. It was developed by Hakkyu Kim, the creator of Ragnarok Online, and won Best Game of 2006 in the 2006 Korean Game Awards.
Granado Espada is a fantasy-style RPG with a 17th century colonial twist. The game takes place in the newly discovered continent of Granada Espada, where treasure and adventure await. Much of the architecture in the game is similar to the Baroque styles of Europe. What really distinguishes this MMORPG from others of it’s kind though is the Multiple Character Control system. Instead of controlling only one character at a time, the player can control a party of up to three characters. You’ll also be able to recruit several NPC characters, which can even be traded to other players.
The official launch is set for May 17.
