PotBS Character Transfers now Available

Pirates of the Burning Sea players now have the option to transfer characters to different servers. Unfortunately, this move is more a kin to walking the plank. Flying Lab has decided that players are too spread out among the eleven existing servers. To promote higher server population, the company in shutting down seven of those servers. Those people needing to jump ship to swim for better waters can do so at this link.

At the same time the character transfers were activated, Flying Lab closed out character creation on several servers. Players have one month to decide which server to set sail to.  Closing servers are :

• Bonny
• Guadeloupe
• Kidd
• Morgan
• Bellamy
• Bonnet
• Hornigold

Any of you heading for virgin territory where there’s still room to grow can transfer to one of these servers:

• Roberts
• Blackbeard
• Rackham
• Antigua

As in any major move, their are a few things you just can’t take with you. Although PotBS has provided a way for players to keep track of their society members through the /dumpsocietyinfo command, many of game setting will revert to a pristine state.

There are a few pieces of character information that will not move with a character. Both the Friend and Ignore lists will be empty after the copy. The character will not be in a society on their new server. Personal unrest or contention points the character has earned will be cleared as well. It is important that these specific data points not carry over, in order to make certain that they not disrupt the destination server’s data.
