I have been hoping for a remake of number FF7 jus for the graphic update’s but still we need new final fantasy games and i think games will be great if they bring back MATERIA thats one thing i really liked about 7 and alson more games where characters have enemys like sephiroth who has to be the greatest video game bad guy of all time!!!

and i wish the UK weren’t last on the F**king list to get the games released all the time its a ball ache

as todays and future standards of games grows, and disc space becomes more and more, considering final fantasy 7 was on 3 discs on play station 1, what they could possibly do is recreate the multiple disc game BUT extend it, 3 discs, alot more story line and alot of happy gamers. i just hate it when i complete an RPG and want to play it further and further with more storys and things to do. ff7 did end rather plain and bland with cloud defeat sephiroth but they could bring in the movie advent children and add that into the game as the 3-4 disc remake.

I honestly really need a remake i was born in 1994 so i was 3 when ff7 came out and i never got to play it and i recntly played crisis core and loved it and when i decided to find a copy of ff7 it proved to be impossible im dying to play it and i would love a remake so i hiope square can give me the chance to enjoy the game and really who cld have a problem with recreating it wld u rather them make another game like DOC cse lets face it DOC wasnt good and didt rly make sense so im hoping 4 a remake and u ppl saying there shldnt be one r ruining my chances of getting a remake so stfu

Damn you square … how can you tease us all like this. Although I do have a feeling that with FFXIII, versus, and agito coming to a close we may yet still see talk of a remake, that is, if it already isn’t being made. The special ending in Crisis Core says “to be continued in FFVII” and in case nobody realized this “to be” means future, or soon to be. Which doesn’t make since b/c FFVII already exists … DAMN YOU SQUARE! YOU WILL DO THIS REMAKE!

all i want in life is to relive the feelings playing ff7. imagine the raw power and excitement of the shinra building when you see the streaks of blood from the jenova tank, or the fear you had at the very presence of sephiroth, the way you felt seeing aerith die all pushed to the limit by todays graphics and sound. i cant count how many times i have played ff7 just to see the story unfold again and again. and some of you are saying those moments arent worth remaking? you must have your head up your ass

Also can anyone imagine how mammoth a task a re-make would be? FF7 was so in depth with a huge variety of side quests and monsters the likes of which have been missed in newer titles because its very very difficult to keep the quality and game play on par. A re-make of this game is a huge undertaking and commitment by even SE’s standards.

I’m amazed by the rift this topic is causing between so called fans. I think what it boils down to is what kind of a re-make it will be. I agree FF7 was something very special and set the bar for an era of RPG’s and im sure holds a very special place in the hearts of all who played it aswell as those who were involved in its development. Like all art, time does it no favors and like all art i think restoration is a necessity to restore it to its former glory so that a new generation can continue to appreciate it and an older generation can re-live its magic. In any case i don’t think this should be an argument, if SE makes any move to re-make this legend then it is a great service to us fans and wouldn’t even be considered if we didn’t love this game so much.
The reality of such a re-make is still slim and at best a very long way away from fruition, But a little dreaming and hoping never hurt anyone

I want a remake so bad as I see FFVIII as the last great FF game. FFX was only really good because it was the first FF to have talking. The BIGGEST fear I have for a FFVII remake would be that they would make it in the same shadow of the more recent games e.g. FFXII. I’m happy to play the old game just the way it was BUT to have the old game remade with just better graphics and voice overs would be great as long as they don’t change any of the game play. Still in my mind the best FF game ever.

FiNAL FANTASY VII coming soon to screen near you. If they were to announced it was coming I believe the net would overload and crash from all the fans trying to get the very first screens. Of course a sequel to crisis core and DoC is planed. If you’ve played either you know what im talking about so that may be the only way of seeing Cloud and the gang on our PS3s. Kingdom hearts 3 doesn’t really count.

If they remade FF7 for the PS3 I would be made up for years. The original gave me endless fun and having just completed Crisis Core I’ve begun to play the original again. Despite the graphics it is every bit as good as i remember.
In my opinion, no other FF has lived up to FF7, even the earlier ones, helped mainly by the materia system and side quests (Master Magic/Command/Summon, Chocobo Breeding, etc.) On the other hand, the quality of Crisis Core and Advent Children have added greatly to the story of FF7 and done it justice. To not make a remake of Final Fantasy 7 after the clip at the end of Crisis Core and the released video Demo would be stupid due to the hype they’ve created.
I would like to see Materia Fusion from Crisis Core used which could lead to break Hp/Mp limit and damage limit but i would most like to see the difficulty increased as it was considerably easy with the correct materia combinations. Agreeing with Tyler_Wu I would like to see more balance against enemies other than weapons as they are supposed to be hard.
Having playable summons would completely spoil it as your using materia and controlling the summons was not part of the game play. In FFX, the summoner borrowed the power of the summon and therefore it was used by consent but with materia your stealing the power of the summon.
The equiping of Materia to weapons and armor should stay along with all the ways of using the materia with the added Materia Fusion and all the original Side Quests and possibly including Missions for Avalanche similarly to those Zack did for Soldier.
FF7 rocks guys, nomatter what anyone says and a remake of FF7 would do everyone good.

I hope this new remake is MADE sometime soon, I’m playing the original FF7 as I type this…I absolutely loved the side quests, Ruby,Emerald…and rare stuff like quadra magic,knights of the round,gold chocobos,master magic,master summon I like the challenging quests anything that is like near impossible to beat but is still beatable…example ruby is by far the hardest…but with the right combinations of materia like final attack with phoenix = pretty powerful. If the new one is made for ps3 i hope they include some stuff from the others like, break hp/mp limit, playable summons like ffx, maybe include anima, he was kooz. In the end i liked how ff7 used everything they could think of as in buggys,tiny bronco,highwind. I liked flying around that was one of the best things next to the submarine… enough of my ranting i loved this game and will prolly play it over and over until my cd’s no longer work~!

FF7 > FFX > FFXI >FF9

Those are the only FF’s I played, I liked em all.

I want a remake of ff7 but ONLY IF they increase the difficulty. I recently bought the pc version and its possible to beat the entire game without much trouble playing a solo character challenge with no offensive magic or summons and with halfing his HP and all stats with an editor.

vanilla ff7 was challenging back when i first played at at age 13 (im 21 now) but nowadays its so easy you could beat it with just one character, thats underleveled, and doesnt use any magic or summons.

if they create a remake and its the same difficulty or doesnt have multiple difficulty modes i will be very unhappy. just simply upgrading the graphics isnt good enough in my opinion. leave the story and core of the game the same but update the graphics, fix all bugs (like magic defense on armours not doing anything) BALANCE the game so that i cant beat it with just simply holding down the action button then i will be satisfied and will gladly shell out ANY amount of money square asks for.

and maybe add a few more enemies, bosses, sidequests, all i really care about is balance though, so that all random encounters and all bosses are a bit of a challenge for the level that your at, at that point

dont know if anyone agrees….but that trailer they made….do you think they would spend all that time and money making it for no reason? and they would have to know what kind of uproar it would cause….this is a tease for what is to come of the game im almost sure of it….they had plenty of other games to show off grafix if thats all they wanted to do….Killzone 2 for instance…amazing looking demo trailer…..I will remain hopefull for the remake.

I want a remake. I`ve tried to get several of my friends, including my younger two brothers to play FFVII, cos its an awesome game, but they cannot get past the graphics, and thats a shame cos tis an awesome game.

If they do a remake though, KEEP THE CHOCOBOS. I want to be able to breed them like in FFVII, not the shitty sort of breeding like in FF X-2 where I couldnt even NAME my own chocobos and the racing in FFVII was awesome. All these smaller side events in FFVII is what helps making it epic. The storyline too, sure, but without many of those small parts it wouldnt be as great. So if they remake it, please keep the same chocobo breeding and racing, and the dating scene at golden saucer. Having voices to the characters made me cringe for a little while and i thought of FFX which sometimes made me feel awkward, but if they manage to make the voiceovers better than in FFX im up for it in the remake too.

so if they remake it, please do not take away;
- the whole catching, breeding, racing chocobos thing.
- W-item materia! oh i had plenty fun with that one
- Knights of round materia! imagine that one, in todays graphics!
- dating at gold saucer, fun to see who you get
- epic comments from the characters like;
“Lets mosey” – Cloud
“Lard!! more lard!” – Palmer,
“oh grossness!” – Yuffie,
“Dont step on the flowers” – Reno, etc.

Square Enix is too occupied making Final Fantasy XIII/versusXIII and Kingdom Hearts 3 we’ll probly c a remake this 2014 or 2015 cuz FFXIII may get a late 2009 release…man,waiting for a FF title takes a couple of years now

All of these remarks are very controversial. And can both be respected legends can’t be born again because its the way it is. However…some legends are just too precious to be left in the wind without grabbing onto its awsome potential.

I however choose that the Final Fantasy 7 original members choose in there hearts what they think is right because it is there game, but they also have to understand how huge of an impact it has made fans in America and how many PS3’s would be sold in one day of the release of FF7 for the PS3. How much money would go in there pockets. Billions possibly..

When i watched the CG cinematic movie graphics on games titles such as Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core and watching Advent Children. I was utterly astonished by its beauty, lucious realistic graphics and overall dramatic presentation that made you want to believe in this legendary story.

The original Final Fantasy 7 had remarkible characters, and storyline, and back in the day lego-block-shaped graphics was all that playstation had at the time and you still greatly appreciated it. But look at the technology that the Japanese have now…its magnificent.

Think of Cloud and the whole gang in this world as realistic as it could get, with so much potential to be worked on battle-systems, controls, storyline, sidequests the possibilities are endless at this point…

If this legend was remade it would be the last time this legend had to set foot on a game console because it would please, and absolutley amaze all of the Final Fantasy fans and enjoy every bit of game play and heavily enjoy the amazing cinematic movies that are so emotional and dramatic.

My God you guys.

Yes, the original FFVII was wonderful. But it wasn’t the graphics or the game system that made the game so great–it was the story.

Revamping the graphics and adding voices to characters won’t desecrate the plotline. In fact, I’d be glad if they added in some new side quests. But that won’t change what happens in the game.

If they don’t make a remake, then appreciate the original. If they do a remake, then appreciate it for the story, not the shiny new graphics.
