The PlayStation Portable continues to put up great numbers worldwide, with last week’s PSP sales actually doubling the previous week’s, from 91,481 to 184,610. Those are some extremely nice sales, although software sales are quite disappointing – only three PSP games ended up in the top 50 best-sellers for the week.
And unsurprisingly, the DS continues its campaign of world domination with 222,144 systems sold last week, and an incredible 28 games in the top 50.
And if you’re interested in the other consoles; the Wii Sold 170,558 systems, the PS3 sold 63,720 systems, the PS2 sold 18,025 systems and the Xbox 360 sold an abysmal 8,561 systems.
I can’t ever imagine the PSP overtaking the DS’ hold on the handheld market, but the continued solid numbers the system puts up – particularly following the release of the PSP Lite – go to show the original naysayers how wrong they were.
