1942 PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade to Get 1942 ifiedThe classic Capcom vertical-scrolling shooter has been announced for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network with a tentative release date of this summer. The graphics are being redone and will support widescreen (none of those nonsense bars on the side that seemingly every old school port has) and the soundtrack is being composed by Metal Gear’s Norihiko Hibinio.

There’s no hint as to the pricing for the game, but I’d say that $10 is where this one will end up. That might seem high when you can play the original game on GameTap, but I’d be happy to fork it over – especially when you consider the game will support both local and online 2-player co-op.

Note: This image is from the NES version of the game. The new game will look at least 2% better.
