Playstation 3 to have 380 Titles by March 2008

Intending to spread the word that the PS3 is not dying a slow death, Sony Computer Entertainment President Kaz Hirai stated that we can expect 380 new gaming titles by March 2008. This includes 180 downloadable PSN titles and 200 retail games. The supposed 380 titles coming to the console is being reported by Mr. Hirai to not only boost sales but, in a round about way, also create enough hype to generate interest from third party publishers.
With the almost back-to-back launches of the Nintendo Wii and PS3, the Wii has been outselling the Sony console with the latest figures showing a 5-1 margin in some regions – and with the loss of some exclusive titles (Devil May Cry 4, Mercenaries 2), the system needs as many as it can get to try and stay afloat. Plus, with developers and publishers still making new games for the PS2, Sony needs all the help they can give themselves. With such an awesome system, they need to revamp their thinking, pricing, and advertising or end up covered with dust on a Pawn Shop shelf like the Sega Dreamcast.
We will keep you up to date on new titles and PS3 goings on as news becomes available.
