The firmware we reported on yesterday is now live and sports all of the rumored (read: confirmed early) features that were mentioned. That includes support for Profile 1.1 Blu-ray discs, which includes picure-in-picture support where available.

DivX and VC-1 (WMV) support have also been added so that you can play videos in these formats on your PS3, and the bound-to-be-annoying voice changer feature is now available.

It’s nice to finally have DivX support and all, but I’m dreading the long wait it always takes to install new PS3 firmware. 36% and counting.

it’s taken hours (8 hours now) and still going to upgrade firmware from 1.55 (new ps3) to the latest 2.1, what’s up with that?
