Ninja Gaiden Sigma ScreenThe folks creating Ninja Gaiden Sigma, which Andrew told you will release on July 3rd, have come up with an interesting new way to add some replay value to the game’s demo.

Basically, if you download the demo from the Playstation Network, the amount of time you spend playing it will be tracked. Once the game is released, that information will be used to issue you a reward. What reward? Yellow Essence, the game’s currency. So, the more you play now, the more free money you get on launch day.

It’s an elegant concept, and one that I bet will inspire other games to offer similar perks in the future. Besides, we all know how hard Team Ninja’s stuff is, and every extra bit of spare change will definitely be useful.
