Ever wanted to try out your Gears of War skills at a tournament level? Are you an owner of the Xbox 360 who’s looking for a way to finance the purchase of a PS3? If so, we’ve got the answer for you. Play N Trade, the California-based franchise of game stores, has just announced their national Gears of War Tournament.
Teams in the tournament will be made up of four players. Local Rounds will be held on Sept. 8, 2007, with the winning teams from around the country facing off for the national title on Sept. 15, 2007. The grand prize for the tournament is a $2,000 in-store credit.
Yuvi Shmul, CEO of Play N Trade, said, “Gears of War is one of the best-selling titles and has a huge fan base, so there will be some exciting tournament play. We now have more than 70 stores open across the U.S., as well as in Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam. Our national tournaments are highly anticipated and very popular events because they give gamers the opportunity to meet each other, experience challenging competition and win great prizes. As Play N Trade continues to expand its footprint, we look forward to hosting national tournaments more often.”
The entry fee for this tournament is only $10, so round up three friends to fill out your team, and head over to the Play N Trade site for more information.
