Play as Iconic Space Invaders in Taito’s New Game

For decades, we’ve been playing as the lonely ship at the bottom of the screen firing away at the encroaching aliens. But now, Taito’s turning the tables with their new Space Invaders game, titled Space Invaders Get Even: Gyakushuu no Space Invaders (a.k.a. Space Invaders Get Even: Counterattack of the Space Invaders). As you’ve probably guessed, this Wii game will have you controlling the Space Invaders themselves this time around. Luckily though, it won’t just be you slowly moving them down at faster and faster speeds. Instead, the game looks like you’ll take control of the three different types of invaders (who I assume have different abilities) to destroy cities and fight the occasional boss battle. It looks kind of like Overlord, minus the actual Overlord. Could be fun, but unfortunately this game has been announced as Japan-only for now. But Taito’s been indicating they want to start exporting more games, so who knows?
