Pirates of the Burning Sea Interview with Russell Williams

The MMO Gamer has an interview with Russell Williams, CEO of Flying Lab Software, on the upcoming MMO Pirates of the Burning Sea. The game is based on the 1720’s high seas when the military, merchants, buccaneers and pirates all vied for control of trade routes. Casual gamers can find plenty to do, and combat is skill not level based.
Williams takes a very hands on approach to his privately funded company Flying Labs. The work atmosphere is much more relaxed as there are no investors constantly looking over the employees shoulders.
Pirates of the Burning Sea isn’t in open beta as Williams is firmly against such business practices. He feels that the beta player base will expand globally, and the game will be huge in other markets. There are plans to take on more beta players as the game expands.
