IndieCade will be bringing out the indie alternate reality games (ARGs) and “Big Games” for this year’s Penny Arcade Expo. The IndieCade International Festival of Independent Games will be providing gameplay and showcasing art work from Indie titles throughout the PAX show floor.
“Independent games offer some of the most exciting gameplay, artwork, and innovative thinking in the industry. More and more we see the seeds of these great games, which challenge the norms and become coveted in the mainstream industry. IndieCade offers an opportunity to share creative inspiration and to see and play this work as it emerges,” said Stephanie Barish, founder and president of IndieCade.
Attendees will be able to scavenge a virtual PAX and Seattle for markers playing Urban Bingo and kill em’ with kindness in Cruel 2b Kind, a benevolent assassination game. Play the stock market in Empireville or track down a company agent turned rogue in Prototype161. It’s definitely a good opportunity for indie developers and gamers bored with a market saturated with an endless procession of licensed videogames to get together.
