Past4Ward Claims Rome Reborn for Edutainment MMO

Past4Ward has obtained exclusive rights to the educational title Rome Reborn from Past Perfect Productions. The game targeted at middle and high school students is a virtual reproduction of ancient Rome.

Rome Reborn will be come part of an MMO like game built with virtual world techniques. According to the press release on Business Wire, Past4Ward is developing it as part of a K-12 supplemental classroom program on ancient civilizations.

I imagine having programs like this in the classroom will spark more interest in history and archeology than a textbook could. Unfortunately the price of technology will be an even bigger factor separating the class than ever once these games become common place in wealthier school districts.
