CEO of Ossian Studios and Producer and Co-Lead Designer on Mysteries of Westgate Alan Miranda talks about the company and the first adventure pack for Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate. There have been many articles and interviews on MoW but WarCry focused on the company itself and the development process. Ossian Studios is a professional development company, but it works differently from most others.
Alan Miranda: I think working remotely over the Internet, as is our setup at Ossian, has an excellent advantage over moving people to an office at a central location. For example, not everyone is able to move, or is even interested in moving to a new and particular location. Working from home also has a tremendous advantage, in that you get to work in your most comfortable environment. And being able to hire people from anywhere in the world allows Ossian to hire the best the world has to offer.
The formula seems to be working well for Ossian. The company’s Darkness over Daggerford module for NwN1 is still averaging over 200 downloads daily. MoW is already reaping rave reviews before its release. To top it all off, Ossian has already started on a new project that Miranda assures players will be announced soon.
Gamers interested in the development part of projects should definitely look into this interview. You can read the entire article on WarCry.
