In a proclamation that has resulted in nothing but shock and a confirmation that the end of the world is upon us, Saints Row 2 developer Volition’s Greg Donovan has stated that the game “won’t be bug free.” A videogame that has bugs in it? How dare they!
“It won’t be bug free. I don’t think any game is. But part of what we did was to start development early on. Our development schedule is all about getting the gameplay in and even though this (version of the game shown to press) is pre-alpha, we’re all about iterating the gameplay now.”
“We have a full QA team on it, we’ve been able to undergo a massive engine overhaul,” Donovan explained.
In other news that isn’t blatantly obvious, it was revealed that the game’s lead platform is Xbox 360, although both it and the PlayStation 3 version of the game should be identical in terms of “feature parity.”

If they are preping people for a buggy game now… i wonder what its gonna be like….
oh i waz hopin 4 a good bug free game an all
P.S Add me PSN: Chew111
Admitting that you’re gona have bugs is stupid as it will dampen thoughts on the game. Instead of saying there will be problems and that they’d have a QA team, they should’ve said “Like any new and complicated game, we fear the possibility of bugs, however we are endeavouring to make gameplay faultless in performance”. Sounds so much better.
At least the man’s being honest – you’ve gotta give him that.
I do, but this is one of the few cases where I think a little bit of sugar-coating wouldn’t go a miss.
Sadly this game is going to be so hugely overshadowed by GTA 4 i doubt many people will care if its buggy.
