Howard & Nester

If you are an old school gamer like myself, there’s a good chance you subscribed to Nintendo Power magazine. Starting in 1988, an interesting comic appeared in Nintendo Power called “Howard & Nester”. The comic was based on Howard Philips (Nintendo employee and Nintendo fan-club president) and a completely fictional character named Nester who was your typical know-it-all teenager.

Each Howard & Nester comic appeared at the end of every Nintendo Power issue until the 25th volume, then all traces of the loved comic vanished from the world. After doing a little searching on the web, I discovered a page where every Howard & Nester comic can be viewed. This site is a perfect example of how the internet helps us preserve gaming history. I’m sure many of you have forgotten about Howard & Nester, but now you can take a look back at the classic gaming comic.
