OCZ Brings Do-It-Yourself Notebooks to Gamers

OCZ Technology Group has unveiled its pioneering Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Gaming Notebook Program. The program will allow gamers users to purchase an unconfigured notebook and then build their own gaming-grade machine. OCZ will provide guides and direct support.

I find this announcement timely as my wife and I have been shopping for a decent gaming notebook that won’t run us into the ground. Being able to choose exactly the features we want is a real plus. If they can beat the prices of the major build to spec suppliers, you know who I’m talking about, I’ll definitely be considering this option.

It’s not really a gaming laptop if it has an 8600M GT….8600 isn’t that good, even on desktops.
The desktop 8600 is good, i’ve tested it and it will run crysis at full blast

I’m not an ATI fanboy. I’m not an nVidia fanboy either. I used to have a Radeon 9800 Pro, back in the day. Now I have a GeForce 7600GT. My 7600GT can run Crysis at full DX9 settings fine, which is why I say that the 8600 isn’t very impressive.

the 8600 isnt that great anymore, it lacks features that i would want if i didn’t want my notebook to be obsolete quick. the ATI 3850 or Nvidia 9600 would both be fine, they would also last alot longer and preform better, and are competitively priced, that is an indisputable fact. why put a last generation card in a notebook you cant upgrade? even if you can upgrade, why do it? unless you cant afford the minuscule price difference. I don’t even know why the last generation of cards was released, especially the hd2 series, the hd3 series blows it away, same with nvidia, just to a lesser extent, the 8 series wasn’t that bad. ati released another generation less than six months after the last….thats just robbery. its like telling everyone mass effect wont come out for PC, that way they all buy the xbox version first, then the PC version 6 months later with a few extra features…hmm….wait SOMEONE DID DO THAT
