According to gamesindustry.biz, Oberon Media is poised to acquire I-play, a mobile publisher and developer. This acquisition, which is scheduled for June, consolidates hefty interests in TV, online and mobile casual gaming.
“We are now poised to revolutionize the casual games category, offering our partners access to more than a thousand of the most popular casual games, delivered to their consumers’ screen of choice: online, mobile and TV,”said Tomer Ben-Kiki, CEO of Oberon Media.
Oberon titles we’ve covered are Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile and Dream Day Honeymoon. I-play’s Fast and Furious has been downloaded over seven million times to date. Oberon Media now has over 350 distribution partnerships globally with companies such as Microsoft, Electronic Arts, AOL,Yahoo, Sprint and AT&T. With the demand for casual games on the rise, Oberon and I-play’s honeymoon should last quite a while.
