Nyko Technologies announced today that is has shipped the Intercooler for the PS3. Essentially, a cooling fan for your console, this peripheral snaps onto the back of your PS3 and increases airflow away from system’s internal components. This will allow the PS3 to run at optimal temperature levels, increasing the life of your system.
That’s cool and all (no pun intended), but you know what bugs me? That you’d actually need something like this in the first place. Just a thought, but shouldn’t the system be running at optimal temperature levels on its own? I’m not sure what happens if you don’t use the Intercooler on your system, but I get the impression that a couple of years down the road it’s going to erupt into a fireball when you pop in the latest Ratchet and Clank game.
