threescreen NWN2 Community Update Patch Progress and Monitor MadnessRob McGinnis returns for the final Community Update of the year on the Neverwinter Nights 2 Forums. While the update is a bit smaller than usual he does discuss changes to Obsidian’s internal process for patch creation as well as highlighting an interesting new product from Matrox that allows a single video card to split the signal to three different monitors. While this technology is nothing new to flight sim fans it looks like it could have some interesting implications for RPG fanatics or FPS freaks looking for a more immersive experience.

Rob points the community spotlight on a project called “Pocket Tilesets”. The project aims to make simple encounter space premades for module builders and his hosted at one of the big NWN community sites.

The concept behind Pocket tilesets is to make smaller tilesets, with the same level of detail (if not more) as our larger sets but to provide the basic tiles needed to create a good cross section of areas. the advantage of this is we can work a lot quicker because many of the basic tiles are simply variations of a type. We can produce these sets rather quickly and release them as such.

Rob also includes some details on the patch progress and his comments on the addition to a new member of the Obsidian team. Full details can be found at the link below.
