Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy

Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy is another new classic point & click adventure game on the horizon. Developed by the same people who brought you The Secrets of Da Vinci – The Forbidden Manuscript, Nostradamus places the gamers in 16th century Provence, France where the land has been ravaged by religious wars and devastated by the plague. Catherine de Médic is still in control despite loosing her crown three years before the game begins and she is under constant attack from the French nobility. In March 1566, upon falling victim to a terrible curse, she turns to her doctor and astrologer, Nostradamus who sends his daughter Madeleine to help de Medici. The situation is a little tricky, because the practice of medicine is a male occupation, therefore Madeleine must disguise herself as her younger brother César. As the gamer alternated between Madeleine’s both forms in the game, players are interacting in world where political scheming and ancient prophecies are immersed with everyday life. Playing out like a detective novel, gamers will use different forensic skills to solve murders, solve puzzles inspired by the works of Nostradamus, and explore the mysterious realms of astrology, medicine and medicinal plants. Players will also have many NPCs to interact with, and will be able to make a transition between characters which will in turn give you strategical advantage when interacting with other NPCs.

Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy, is developed by Kheops Studio and is due to be released this gaming quarter. There have been many different release dates floating around the net for this one, but from the information I gathered from the devs, it became available for download on October 25th (yesterday) and the retail release can be picked up on November 27th. The only foreseeable problem with the downloadable version, is that gamers who do not speak French will not be able to understand it very well – and I could not find an English option on the site. Check back often, and I will see if I can dig any more information up; meanwhile check out the many, many, screens we have for the game after the jump.
