No Wii Hard Drive Coming

As I announced earlier in Wii Space Issues, my hopes were high that Wii would issue a hard drive on which to store Wii Virtual Console games. It now looks as though my hopes have been dashed. According to an interview at computerandvideogames.com, there are no plans for a hard drive:
CVG: Is Nintendo considering releasing a hard drive to bolster the Wii’s memory for all this new content?
Nintendo: No.
It’s not “not at this time” or “we have no plans,” it’s just “no.” Maybe they will consider it in the future, when more and more consumers get annoyed by the prospect of transferring files back and forth from an SD card. Here’s a new question and the answer I hope Nintendo will proffer:
Me: Is a hard drive too much to ask for?
Nintendo:Â No.
I can hope.

Its pointless to have a hardrive for wii, u can get a 2-4gig SD card for preety cheap and those sould hold enough games. If you need to get every Virtual Console then you need to hang yourself.
Yeah, you can get SD cards up to 4GB (not counting the new SDHC format). But as I understand it, the specs for the Wii will only support/recognize up to a 2GB card. Whether this means it would see a 4GB card as only 2GB, only see the first 2GB OF a 4GB card, or refuse to recognize a 4GB card at all, I don’t know. But I do remember reading that they only support 2GB cards.
