Cliffy B Onstage at Microsoft Press Event E3 2007

Cliffy B himself put in an appearance at E3 tonight, popping up onstage to confirm what most everyone already knows: Gears of War is enroute to the PC. Cliffy showed off a battle that had some interesting implications, as he and another player teamed up to take on a humongous Brumbak in a wrecked area very typical of Gears. That tells us that we can expect cooperative play, something that has been noticeably lacking in PC games of late. While he didn’t finish the fight, it looks intense enough for two players, or more.

Also, the best-selling shooter will include new content not found in the XBox 360 version, and more interestingly, a game editor. Anyone up for some custom maps?

The whole thing is part of the new Games for Windows initiative from MS, and with the power they’re putting behind it, it looks to be trying to revitalize PC gaming.

Another 360 ‘exclusive’ that I will be now playing at some point which is strange because I don’t have a 360.

This is good news for XP/Vista users. Ofcourse we knew a title so good and popular would be coming to PC. Microsoft arent dumb, they knew if it was a hit on the 360, it will be a hit on PC. They are Moneysoft.
