No More Tips or Tricks for Tips & Tricks

Gaming magazine Tips & Tricks (who has one of the worst websites ever, their MySpace is better) has been publishing tips and um… tricks since 1994, but is closing its proverbial doors this year. Two other gaming-related print magazines have gone under in the last 12 months: Official Playstation Magazine kicked the can in late 2006 and Computer Games Magazine bit the big one in March of this year due to its parent company’s financial problems. Perhaps this is a trend that will continue to show itself as more and more gaming websites crop up with the ability to handle massive amounts of codes, as well as the ever-changing nature of video games.
Freelance T&T contributor Jeb Haught was dismayed at the way the shutdown was handled, as he was notified of the closure via an early paycheck. Other users have expressed their disappointment on the page, saying that it’s “sad to hear” and one even saying that he wants “make a career is video game journalism.” Perhaps print isn’t dead for video games after all.
Larry Flynt-owned T&T will still be publishing codebooks on a monthly basis.

Yes i can see that, and wonder why not sooner. the reason is the same as i type this message. The internet stopped them. i would say most read webpage information on the games they used to get from a magazine. so what would you do? pay the $3-5 for a magazine or go browse a free website of game they are intrested in.
