Nintendo’s Trademarks Hint at Pikmin Sequel

As is common with developers, Nintendo regularly trademarks names for products they may or may not release. The latest batch of trademarks from the house of Mario include several ominous names that could really be applied to almost anything: Mii Contest Channel, Nintendo Magic, Mii Audition, Wii Handle, Soma Bringer, Wii Body Controller. Among these new names however appeared an old one in the form of a renewal of the “Pikmin” name. This can only mean that Nintendo has at the very least seriously considered the idea of a sequel to the game. Personally, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a Wii version, but a DS game seems pretty likely as well. I’m also really puzzled by what the “Wii Handle” could be.
