mariokart1 1 Nintendo Now Japans Second Most Valuable CompanyNintendo became Japan’s second most valuable company this week behind Toyota. The company closed up on Tuesday with a market value of 8.39 trillion yen. This surpassed former runner up, Canon, who closed at a value of 8.12 trillion yen. It appears investors are banking on the Wii and DS to remain in high demand well into the Christmas shopping season. Don’t expect Nintendo to take the number one slot anytime soon though, as Toyota still boasts a market value of 24 trillion yen, almost three times that of Nintendo. Still, a company that mostly makes video games placing second in an economy ripe with heavy-hitting companies? That ain’t too shabby at all.
