With the deadline looming for filling gift lists, Nintendo is implementing a feature that can make your holiday shopping a lot easier.

Now players can gift their Wii friends the gift of a classic Nintendo game like Ghosts’n Goblins or Pokémon Snap from today’s Wii-kly update through the Wii Shop Channel’s new Gifting Feature. The system will even let you know if your buddy has already downloaded the game and boot you back to the catalog so you can pick out another. There’s no wrapping, postage or packaging to deal with.

Save a tree send a gift on the Wii.

“Save a tree send a gift on the Wii.”

Send that to Nintendo, suggesting it be their tagline for the gifting feature.

It’s a pretty cool feature, I’ll admit, but you need to get more Wii points than required, meaning you have to get something for yourself, even if you don’t want to. A simple resolution would be, on the Wii itself, to purchase a set number of points that fits in more with one-use.

I found everything I need to know about the hot Wii video games this season on ExpoTV’s Holiday Survival Guide (http://www.expotv.com/holiday). It’s another fun way to find something for everyone on your list
