Since we’re on the topic of Nintendo, President Satoru Iwata announced at a press conference yesterday that there are 124 new software titles in development. While 45 of these titles will be for the Wii, a whopping 79 of them are for the DS, which as we reported in an earlier post, is now being produced at a higher rate than any Nintendo console ever. The next batch of games should hit the market sometime near the end of summer, according to Iwata. Of course, not all of these titles will make it to market, but still, the sheer numbers are pretty staggering.
He also said that the Wii is being forecast to sell 14 million units this fiscal year. That’s more than triple the number sold since it hit the market five months ago.
