Nintendo Drops The Ban Hammer On Pokemon Hackers

The chatter around the net is that Nintendo is dropping the ban hammer on Pokemon hackers, particularly those using Action Replay to enable specific cheats on Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games. The codes in question include “National-Dex”, “Catch All 493 Pokemon” and “All Shiny” has allegedly resulted in players getting banned. There’s a very thin line between modding and cheating and I am glad to see companies taking steps against certain exploits that ruin the online gaming experience for others. I fully support the modidng communities out there that are responsible with what they do. However, there definitely is a widespread problem with malicious hacking and modding that simply ruins the online experience of the majority. At this point, no one is sure how extensive this ban hammer is coming from Nintendo considering there have been no official statements concerning Pokemon from the company.

From what I know, they were only banning some people using the exploits listed above. I’ll update with a new article if I find out more. The extent of the ban hammer is really rumors at this stage.

I have mixed emotions on this topic. Yes I hate cheaters… but let’s rephrase that. I hate people that make themselves invincible, while killing you with one hit, like the modders of Halo 2. This however is just plain foul rubbish. Instead of banning these people why not make a room just for them the AR room for lack of a better name. What’s the big deal with Shinny Pokémon? So they have all entries for their Pokedex, doesn’t mean they can use those Pokémon in battle. The last ban rule is a concern though. All 493 Pokémon with one series of AR codes? Or is this for the series of codes that allows you catch Pokémon using the master ball item subtraction thing one of my peers was talking to me about. Yeah using it to collect all 493 Pokémon might seem a little, or a lot, cheap but what about your favorites from other versions? To ban people because of that does seem unfair, considering that in order to transfer Pokémon you must first own the GBA games and have completely beaten them. I don’t about most of you but I don’t have twenty to forty dollars to spare. Nor do I have forty plus hours to play a game for a one time shot just to get good old Charizard, or Lugia, back into my new game. Then you have the events Pokémon, when the events come (good luck seeing those in your area). Finally this should be addressed. Rumor posters stop giving ideas to corporations so they can rip off the consumer more than they already do. Flamers stop bashing people that have what you don’t; because chances are when you miss the so called “Events” you’re going to want to use the code devices to get those Pokémon. And Nintendo don’t start taking a military stand on people who just want to get the most out of their games, that “they paid forâ€.

i have an AR but i don’t have WIFI but those cheaters who HURT other players chances is stupid, evil and wrong my freinds and i use my AR to cheat but only to a point people make POKESAV codes for AR that make your next Pokemon a shiny with moves way out of it’s type (IE:roar of time spacial rend sacred fire and hydropump FOR A WEAVILE!!!)and they give them 999 of all stats and abilitys like NOGAURD and WONERGAURD anyone who uses these codes diserves a ban not the people who make it fair with cheats because so what if your pokedex says you’ve caught all the pokemon and you haven’t if you use this code don’t save the game (i blame my freind ’cause he used the code on my pokemon diamond and saved i can’t revrse it either) I DON’T TAKE THINGS WITH CHEATS TO FAR AND TO BE BANNED FROM WIFI FOR HARMLESS CHEATING IS STUPID

Ok,most of you wondering what if there’s a real Wifi banning going around,well YES. We’re getting tired of hackers cheating the Wifi systems out! Cheating is wrong and unfairly playing out true players game experiences. We’re currently are banning THOUSANDS of hacking users by the hour off from Wifi online game playing! We’re watching and slowly banning Action Replayers and other hackers!

Okay. In response to the all pokemon in national dex code that someone up there said is useless. Three words. GLOBAL TRADE STATION!!!! I seem to have been banned on my pearl for some reason, (the only codes I used before that worthless piece of anphibian s*** broke were the item modifiers and the teach any move to a pokemon code. Plus the get all three event pokemon codes {the ones which you hold L or R then go into a pokemart then the guy gives you the items}) However. I am not angry. I know that I deserve to be banned because I cheated. All you other people who feel that they deserve to cheat, EXPECIALLY the Metriod Prime Hunter hackers don’t deserve to even HAVE a NDS. Nintendo and other companies made games to challenge and to enertain. Codes like the “Infinite Life” code for Phoenix Wright (Which is one of my favorite game series) completely DESTROY the game! Not by messing with the game data, but destroying the purpose of it. The life meter in Phoenix Wright is the delicate cord that makes Phoenix Wright a game. Without it, the game would be no challenge whatsoever, and would be a stupid pointless game. Nintendo should not just ban users. They should sue Datel for what they have done. Also, for the consumers that have faulty, defective Action Replays, (You know who you are, those things break VERY easily, just like Games n Music DS. WHICH IS ALSO MADE BY DATEL. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING MADE BY THIS COMPANY!) you might want to contact Datel. They rarely uphold the warrenties, WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW, and we could kill this company before it ruins the truely great game franchises. I do not give a damn about those people who are the “OMG i bot the game if i wanna cheat i can cuz the game is mine, i bot it, wtf is nintendos problem”. They can shut the hell up. And making cheater only rooms. Why the hell would Nintendo want to do that? That would help Datel, the company that ruins the games that they painstakingly made, that took them years to make, to perfect. They took a risk to make a game in which they have no idea if it will sell or not. Datel ruined that. I only hack, cause I like getting baby legendaries from my games to friends around the world. I dont give them to everyone, i just want my friends that are far away from me to have a legendary they dont have without AR for them

Well, I particurarlly do not care anymore about my Pearl anymore, because some mother F*****er stole it from me at Band Camp at the end of the summer, but I have people looking (I have a lot of influence at my school, since I have made a… lot of dealings [not drugs!!] with buying things for extremely cheap prices such as used DSs (wtf??) for 20-45$$) but I still will go against cheaters. I don’t mind cheaters that hack on games to use with friends, but when I use the Auto-trade thing on the GTS (the one when you leave a pokemon for an offer,) and get a hacked pokmemon in return, that really pisses me off. REALLY. Also, on Metroid Prime Hunters with the Always have Omega Cannon code….. DAMN. Quick poll: Who here likes Nintendo’s Friend Code System?

And WHY the f**k argue with Datel? They done good. They let you use homebrew apps on your DS. They let you even HAVE a keyboard for your PS3 and Wii, and I don’t care about Pokemon. Its just monsters that come out of a fucking ball!
I’m into games like Mario Bros. and Tetris and shit like that. There are too much things going on for Pokemon. TRADING CARDS, TOYS, GAMING AND TV! Nintendo should focus on Mario Bros. while Game Freak made Pokemon.
Back on topic. I think its fair to let others cheat. My cousin has Tom&Jerry: War of the Whiskers. He wanted all characters and basically every cheat. So i put it in. And hes happy. If you’re not happy with cheaters on WiFi, get the fuck off Wifi Modes! Play on games YOU CANNOT cheat on. For example, Mario Paint for the SNES.
It’s worth paying for AR-DS. In the UK, its £20. Bargain! Cheats are good because:

2. It helps you ALOT.
3. You’ll get banned anyway. Microsoft bans modded xBox 360s and I’m PRETTY SURE that Sony rejects support custom firmware/bricked PSPs while Apple rejects wet iPhones.

Okay, so, my freind made some pokemon and gave them to me, and I used them, but I didn’t make them invincible. They are just like the ones you would catch and raise in the wild. Is that still bad? I don’t cheat in battles or anything, I just used ar to get them, that’s it. No super-ultra high stats or anything.
I got an Arceus from a friend of mine and Nintendo banned me from GTS, or at least i think. Anyway, i cant go on the GTS, the DS screen says its loading when its actually not. Im not going all the way to New York just to get an elusive pokemon. Nintendo needs to crack down on cheaters in a different approach. I mean they should start cracking down on the people on the GTS who offer a Lvl 1 Evee for a Lvl 100 Mew. They should also start watching the battle-tower pokemon. I mean COME ON!! How the heck is a Rhyperior faster than my pikachu!!! I guess going different places to get pokemon is their excuse for making in-game legendaries easy-to-find. What ever happend to the good old Gold/Silver days when you didn’t know how many pokemon their were?
