Nickelodeon Announces Avatar: Legends of the Arena

Nickelodeon announced its Avatar: Legends of the Arena is slated for release in September. The game will pit players against one another in an online four man arena. Although the game is largely combat oriented, there are a few RPG elements. Players will need to train and duel in arenas in order to unlock their potential earning new skills and costumes for their characters.
“The launch of this multiplayer online game gives Avatar fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the storylines during and beyond its tenure on-air,” said senior VP of Nick.com Jason Root of the project.
Avatar: Legends of the Arena will be available in in 81 territories globally including the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom. Initially, will be offered in ten different languages. THQ’s Avatar: The Last Airbender: Into the Inferno will also be available this fall,

I love the Avatar series,it is a visonary masterpiece with wonderful storytelling. Though I do think that it should get a TV-14 rating, because of the more mature aspects like genocide, war, death, and the deep philosophical overtones which attract an older audience. I cannot wait for this game to be released but I really hope you do not have to pay for it, as that would lesson the fun of the game, like what happened with runescape; what makes me worry is that most games on nick are pay games, pay for what? nothing of intrest, it is a better marketing scheme to let a game get a fanbase and then a few months in after permenant user activity is established is to add a special pay feature. I just really hope it does not require purchase because then it would delay things. I really hope the game isn’t just an area too, I want the common feel of rpgs like runescape, where you get to run around and embark on adventures that have little relavance, that was the fun part. I cant wait to make a evil little firebender, hail firelord ozai! lol jk… I hope Bumi is in the game, and minor characters like Jun or the Dai-li(Joo-dee, anyone?, Iroh would be nice too. I really hope this game has something to contribute to the overall plot and story of Avatar, like add more backstory to characters, etc.

I think the release is scheduled according to californication’s time, it would suck if it was hawaiian punch time though!

the game should be out at the end of the hour, if that hypothesis is true. They are probably trying to keep people from getting early access to be fair
