ValueSoft’s NHRA Drag Racing: Countdown to the Championship for the PlayStation 2 and PSP is approaching the finish line this summer. NHRA News describes the game as “the most complete drag racing experience to dateâ€. Players can go head to head racing some of the world’s finest NHRA drag racing champions as their favorite driver or a custom built character. The game uses the newly established NHRA points structure.
NHRA for the PS2 has incorporated a veteran difficulty setting, between pro and rookie, and bumped up the difficulty on the pro class. The game also sports the new Pro Stock Motorcycle class with four body styles to choose from. Rear tires grow on the burnout, chassis shake and the cockpit and engine are more detailed. The cockpits are now based on real models from Tony Schumacher in Top Fuel, Ron Capps in Funny Car, and Jason Line in Pro Stock. There is also a new quick tune functionality and improved crash system.
NHRA for the PSP will give players wireless head to head through Wi-Fi and will allow cross class racing. they will also get race “fire-breathing, 300-mph jet cars, available in three unique body styles and 20 skins for a whopping 60-car variety”.
