grateful dead Next Week’s Rock Band DLC: Lots of Grateful Dead

The first helping of Grateful Dead songs will be released for Rock Band next week at the usual price of $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) each. The six songs – you read that right, six – will also be available in a bundle for $9.99. Even more good news is that none of the tracks are covers; these are all the master versions.

  • “China Cat Sunflower” (Master)
  • “Casey Jones” (Master)
  • “Sugar Magnolia” (Master)
  • “Truckin” (Master)
  • “Franklin’s Tower” (Master)
  • “I Need A Miracle” (Master)

Do we have any Grateful Dead fans in the house? This gets a “meh” from me. How about we get some Travis Barker remixes of rap songs into the game?

@ the last couple lines, how bout not cuz that would make the game even more mediocre

  2. Stephany says:

Chris, Be very careful what you say about “The Dead” on here. Last time I voice my opinion on them, folks showed up at my house carrying pitchforks and torches.

  3. Chris says:

@Stephany That’s got nothing on the time I was being hung upside down over a pit of bat excrement wearing nothing but a belt.

@Jon You think Rock Band is mediocre?

  4. CoJeff says:

This will get me to buy Rock Band.

@Jon, what is so mediocre about Rock Band? Also how can adding songs from the a group make the game worse?

  5. I may get Rock Band if they add in some Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Who, Boston, Bad Company, Peter Frampton, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, and pretty much everyone else from the 1970’s

  6. da soc says:

    Still no thrash 80s punk.

  7. Stephany says:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – There already is SOME of The Who, but not much yet. I personally have been crying about Led Zeppelin for a year or more now, and the thought of Fleetwood Mac being added to DLC would be the icing on the cake for me.

You do realize, that when we mention bands like this it is showing our age don’t you?

  8. Stephany says:

Let me clarify… I am been yelling about some LZ for ANY music game for over a year now.. not just Rock Band because it has not been out for a year.

  9. William says:

I don’t care what anyone says.. I hate the Dead. I do love 1970s rock though and think these games are skipping some really awesome songs. Of course it all has to do with contracts, etc but I wish Rock Band would get their hands on more songs that actually rock.

  10. Stephany, I’m only 21 years old, I just have great taste in music.

  11. Stephany says:

Jesus S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – thanks for making me feel old.

  12. I do what I can.

I imagine any Jimi Hendrix song would kick ass on Rockband or the Guitar Hero games.
