I don't really know. Street Fighter is my all time favorite fighting game and the first animated movie was great. The anime series was way off and the Alpha movie was alright, but the overall story sucked worse than a mediocre fanfic.

About the only good thing about the first SF movie was getting Zangief's look right and the few funny moments he had.

As for new SF games, I believe Capcom is afraid to 'ruin' the franchise by releasing an SF title that will flop badly and they're content with selling/reselling compilations of old versions.

I guess they are trying to win over the male audience by focusing on a female character this time around (probably similar to the Tomb Raider/DoA/Resident Evil movie strategies - get pretty girl to star in movie to get the guys to check it out).

I think the movie makers are all out of touch with the SF fanbase as much as the Dungeons and Dragons movie makers are, if not more so. I guess I'll still at least hope to be pleasantly suprised by it if they get it out at all.

Capcom should at least release a new SF version in time the movie and save themselves some of their budget for marketing while they're at it.

The 1st film was a assault on all things good in this world.
Dont remind us of its existance by making a new one.

Before anyone criticises this choice just remember how well he directed Grace Park:
