Mount and Blade, the PC exclusive from TaleWorlds and Paradox Interactive, is single-player third-person RPG that focuses mainly on medieval combat with realistic horseback mechanics and sandbox gameplay. The latter enables players to roam the map freely in a medieval world that offers options ranging from hunting down bandits, trading for profit in the game’s economical system and becoming a commander and taking part in the wars ultimately becoming a great lord of the realm.
Expecting to be released sometime in Q2 this year, Mount and Blade looks like it will be bringing something new and much needed to the RPG plate. So far, we have heard only good things about the game, and hopefully we will be able to get our hands on it very soon. In the meantime, enjoy the new screens we received today.

Um, you guys realize that you can purchase and play the current version already, there's a demo version, and both those options have existed for a long time?

Gigarayzor, that may be the case but when we get a Press Release stating that it will released in Spring 2008, that is what we report. Since it is the Beta version that being sold, we cannot rightly say that the game has indeed been officially released until we get conformation from the devs and pubs themselves.

True, but I've always viewed it as an in-development shareware, and I've always thought of it as released. Still, I'm gonna get a box copy.

erathoniel - I plan on buying my boxed copy the moment it hits shelves. Glad to see that it is so well received - makes it much easier to spend money on a game when the majority of people you speak with think its good.
