New Screens for Hellboy Game

Game Almighty’s got some screens of the new Hellboy game due out for the PS3, PSP, and X-Box 360 in September. The game will be based directly on the comic series by Mike Mignola, rather than the movie. You’ll use your stone hand to bash through enemies and the environment to uncover a supernatural conspiracy. You’ll also be able to take control of some of Hellboy’s companions, like Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman.

If history has taught us anything though, it’s that the only games worse than the ones based on movies are usually the ones based on comics. There was a Hellboy game for the PS1, but by most accounts it was apparently god-awful. However, as a fan of the series, I’m still interested to see what they do with this title. Hopefully they stick closely to their source material.
