Since their acquisition by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment last week, Traveler’s Tales is now ready to release some of the details on their new IP, Lego Batman.

Players can choose to control Batman or Robin as they maneuver through Gotham City chasing down the duo’s many nemeses including The Penguin and The Joker. Objects can be broken down and rebuilt into vehicles as in Lego Star Wars. There will also be a two player cooperative game mode available.

Pail Levitz, president of the Batman rights-holder, DC Comics, was pleased that the franchise would be expanding. “There’s nothing more appealing to our youngest fans than the chance to be The Batman and the Lego Batman video game will provide a unique opportunity for them to immerse themselves in Gotham and Batman’s adventures.”

Lego Batman is confirmed for launch on all platforms in 2008.
