New Information on Dead Rising 2?

While Capcom has already announced that they are working on a sequel to the popular zombie action-fest, Dead Rising, they have yet to officially release any information on it. And of course, that means the rumors are flying and information is slowly leaking out. Folks over at The Gaming Life recently received an email from a source with a picture allegedly from the new game and a description of some of its new features:
“The environments for Dead Rising 2 look absolutely beautiful. They put a lot of effort and work into them. The zombies had not been added into the game yet, but the area looked even bigger then the original mall. The setting for it looks a lot like Las Vegas except somehow you are trapped only in a small section of the city with about 4 or 5 casinos, some restaurants, shopping areas and a lot of stores altogether. It looked very much like the strip in Las Vegas, but they didn’t show a whole lot to make an accurate portrayal. That an I know Resident Evil: Apocalypse is set there so I am unsure if they would go this route. All I can say for sure is that the setting was much bigger then the small town mall.â€
In addition to the new setting, the developers are intending to add a co-op online mode, previously thought to be included in a Platinum edition fo the first game:
“Finally this game will have some aspect of multiplayer where users will be able to play a survivor and try to tough it out online with at least 4 players. With the first one Capcom knew that gamers wanted a multiplayer zombie game. However did not have the time to make it happen. This game they are listening to the gamer through the survey that was taken a while back.â€
Rumours also indicate that a teaser trailer for the game may be shown at this year’s E3, so maybe we’ll get more details then.
the screenshot looks real and raimbow does not look like that so you might be on to something!

Fake. Look at the name at the bottem the name is exactly the same as the original except smaller. Personaly i would think the name would have an add on like dead rising 2 or dead rising vegas or somthing like that that is in all sequle games so you can tell them apart.
the screen shot is fake i looked at RS: vegas it has the same thing but just to let you know there is deadrising 2 coming out. the game is real but the screenshot fake so the guys who say the screen shot is fake are right srry not real..
If you look at what looks to be a cinema title thing it says dead rising on it… so it could be from it… maybe nott it could either be a ACTUAL screenshot or CGI’d onto the Thing….

i have not played rainbow six vegas so i can not comment on the photo…but dead rising 2 has been confirmed by capcom japan and is under development. there are VERY little details on the setting, characters, release date or even the platform. For those hardcore deadrising fans like myself feel free to go buy august’s game informer look in the top corner of page 20 if you do not beleive me

This is fake, but I do want a Dead Rising 2 with Multiplayer. DeadRising2.net said something about a Game Convention or something like that and Capcom was going to announce two new projects. At the time they were described as Capcom Project #1 and Capcom Project #2. Is there any news on that?

The name of the next Dead Rising will be “Dead Rising: Chop till you drop” I think.

I think this is fake because:
1.It looks like Rainbow 6 only edited
2.It has the logo
3.The whole “Las Vegas” idea is pretty stale
4.How the HELL would Frank and Isabella have gotten there in the first place?
5.There’s a sub-machine gun in the bottom right corner
Not to mention if you look at the little sign dead center of the screenshot, you can see where the photoshopped out one of the soldiers. You can still see his outline, for fuck’s sake.

. Its the second half of the level “Red Lotus” where you rescue a captured journalist. Another way to tell its R6V: notice the car on the right. Its a dodge i think, which is the ONLY type of car you see in R6V (sellouts!).
On another note, on a video from the website of Blue Castle (the rumored developers of DR2), there is a blurred image of an XBOX 360 case on his desk. Also, there is a black case in the corner with a 360 controller next to it. This hints that they may be doing DR2 (the case looks like dead rising’s) and it might also be a 360 exclusive.
Also, for all you people who believe deadrising.net is real- it’s not. Its a fan made site. Cant you tell everything they use is from the original dead rising? Still though, there may be a dead rising 2, though it wont likely be out before ‘09 or ‘10.
Also the reason they wont make it soon: for some reason Capcom thinks even though it sold GREAT in the west, its minimal sales in Japan dont warrant a sequal.
So it wont be out for awhile.

I think it is a fake picture but I wouldnt blame this dude for it cuz he seems like looked it up and knows what hes talkn about. He probably just googled the pic and thought it was real. Besides, you know the graphics will be great if they do make a sequel cuz look at the first one, the graphic kicked ass compared to a lot of games, and still do.

just a suggestion, resident evil extinction was based in vegas, and capcom originally made the resi series, and DR1 was ALOT like dawn of the dead, so why cant DR2 be ALOT like resi extinction? if you get me.

It’s definately a photoshop.
You can even see a guy standing in front of that map in the very center front of the image. For the most part he is photoshopped out, but you can still see his gun and the bottoms of his feet and legs.
Nice job… but pretty poor to someone like myself… who alters images for a living.
