New Downloadable Content for Guitar Hero II

If I recall, the last time Live’s DLC update for Guitar Hero 2 was back in late April. Or did they add that 4th pack back in July? My memory is bad. Regardless, that’s far too few and a long time to wait for the promised DLC content we were given back in July. In fact, I could almost swear we were promised DLC well before then. Because we all know how much hard effort and time was put into getting Encore: Rock the 80’s out the door.
Anywho, a new song pack is available right now on Xbox Live Marketplace (as well as a free video demonstration of the songs). It looks like the pack contains three totally new songs to the GH franchise. The Dashboard Text reads as follows:
“Teenagers,” “Famous Last Words” and “This is How I Disappear” as performed by My Chemical Romance. There are no refunds for this item. For more information, see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.

Sorry just had to say that. Interesting to see this new pack encompass a single group. I wonder if this will be the trend from now on? Made in Mexico pack, ftw! Since MCR’s “Dead!” didn’t make it on the PS2 version, this chalks up to, count ‘em, four My Chemical Romance songs for the 360 version of Guitar Hero 2. In fact, My Chemical Romance currently holds the title of most songs across all Guitar Hero games. So I guess if you are a MCR fan, take note.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. The price of the pack is 500 Microsoft points. Same price as the four previous packs of three. And for those not in-the-know, 500 Microsoft points comes to about $6.25 USD. That’s approximately $2 per song.
Just glancing at the Guitar Hero Forums, it seems these 3 new songs are relatively easy to the Guitar Hero veteran. I’ve played quite a bit of Guitar Hero myself, so I feel confident in gauging my ability with others on that forum (and scorehero too). Based on current feedback skilled players are giving on these 3 new songs, I think I could probably 5 star these 3 songs on Expert difficulty the first few tries. With that said, it looks like deciding factor for me will be fun vs cost.
If you are still listening, Activision, we need more downloadable content for Guitar Hero 2. Guitar Hero 3 is still too long a wait for many of us.
Yet another waste of 500 points. I wont be wasting it on GH2 DLs. no thanks. I am saying Rock band is soon here and the way to go. But they probaly will be the same. Lets hope indivual songs are an option for download. I hate the one or 2 good songs and stuck with a third garbage song. Dont waste your money.
They should release another Game disk with 30 songs for $30 or 40. that would be worth it. or offer more variety of single downloads. This way they would make a killing on Dls.
There is some free PC programs by the way, and works with the Xbox 360 guitar or the PS2 guitar with a PS2-Usb converter. they are Guitar Zero, and Frets on fire. check them out, but lets hope u have a good video card. Lots of songs. lots of free music. but its no Guitar hero, and neither will be Rock band. Cannot wait for Rock band. Rock band will put a stake through Guitar heros heart.
I refuse to spend $0.01 on anything related to MCR let alone 500 MSP. What a rip.
The DLC is a Joke pure and simple. let’s get it right 500 points = 2.25 per song. It’s amazing to me that once GH2 was released on the 360 everyone was saying that rockband was going to fail – then the DLC hit xbox live marketplace and bam the GH series now is looking like it’s going to die and rock band can’t gain any higher in popularity and hype.
Red Octane I hope your listening – when you analyzed how well your packs sold I think you forgot to take into consideration as to how many had free point cards that were used to purchase the tracks. they are overpriced and I will not support any.
Comparing rock band’s so far announced tracklist to GH3 – im sold on rock band.
i left my game in the car and my sister has my keys!!! i tried to connect the cord to the computer, but my dog chewed on it and it is not working! can i download gutiar hero from the computer to my xbox360???????????????????????
