Volition has released a new developer diary for their upcoming Red Faction: Guerrilla, set 50 years after the first game. This new installment in the series will have players returning to Mars and once again fighting along with revolting miners. The video also shows some of the first actual gameplay footage for this game, which looks pretty awesome so far. It looks like the decision to make the game a third-person open-world title was a good move (frankly, the linear path of the first games always bugged me a bit). Plus, they’ve apparently everything extra destructible, giving you the ability to take down buildings piece by piece.

i had 1 and 2 when the ps2 first came out and that was 6 years ago. ive always said that i loved RF and i have never forgot it and now this is coming out. im probably the only person who thought no.1 and 2 where 2 of my favourite games of all time. RF 2 was my first real multiplayer game i could do split screen with my friends and thats why it has a special place in my heart. its like beeing re-united with your astranged dad or something.
