mochiads New Ad Network Allows Indie Developers to Monetize Their Games

Mochi Media has announced the launch of MochiAds, an advertisement network aimed specifically for videogames, and more specifically, independent videogame developers. The network already supports more than 1,000 game developers, easily allowing them to stick ads into their games in one of two forms.

The first of these is pre-game, where advertisements are shown while the game is loading and before the player begins playing. The alternative is inter-level ads, which are displayed at appropriate times during gameplay.

Developers can easily remove the ads at any time, as there are no contracts to be signed. There are, however, benefits for staying on board (free hosting, easy distribution).

While you might not support advertisements in games from companies like Electronic Arts, I don’t think anyone can blame Joe Developer for wanting to get some sort of return on his or her hard work. Hopefully deals like this will encourage the independent game development community, as the more people sharing ideas and developing games, the better.

Yeah, this is one situation where I can definitely support in-game ads.
