The cost of a decently sized hard drive today is trivial (go ask anyone who sells/builds PCs). Both Sony and MS should be ashamed for charging what they do for what is ultimately "more space".

Regardless, the materials cost to manufacture a 60GB hard drive is more than likely the same as a 20GB now. I don't see MS changing strategy by offering a "cheap" upgrade option for existing 360 owners. Your best bet is still going to be hitting ebay for that.

For existing 360 owners, this news is more exciting:

http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/14/microsoft-details-other-360-improvements-including-hard-drive-g/

Now, if MS would just simply kill off the non-hd SKU. It really has no purpose now.

I completely forgot that E3 was this week. I guess that is just how exciting it has become huh?

Anyway I wonder if Microsoft will be releasing the 60GB hard drive as a separate purchase for those of us that have the 20GB. It would be a cheaper alternative to the 120GB hard drive at least. I don't need 120GB, I don't need THAT much space personally, but 60GB would be nice.

Go Marlins!!!!
