Nerd Movie Rundown: Shots from the Set of X-Files 2 and a Leaked Teaser for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek

Hey, we’re all nerds here; nothing wrong with that. And while I’m sure we all love video games, most of our geek interests don’t stop there. That’s why it seems only natural that our readers would be interested in some of the recent developments concerning some upcoming nerdcentric movies. First of all, some new shots from the set of the new X-Files movie hit the net recently. They don’t show much except for Mulder and Scully hunched over a computer in an office (But whose office is it? Get those rumors started, people). Concerning the plot, series creator, Chris Carter, said:
“We spent a lot of time on (the mythology) and wrapped up a lot of threads…We want a stand-alone movie, not a mythology conspiracy one.”
Next up, a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Star Trek movie being produced by J.J. Abrams was leaked recently. The video was obviously shot inside a theater, but you can clearly see a darkened construction crew piecing together the original U.S.S. Enterprise. Seems like this movie may be going for a grittier look than its predecessors.

I really hope Mulder and Scully are in someone else’s office. I’ll be supremely disappointed if the basement office (and the ‘I Want to Believe’ poster) aren’t back.
Fans of welding are gonna love that Star Trek vid.
I’m looking forward to the X-Files film though. I thought the series lost the plot a bit later on but the film was excellent.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!! My life finally has some meaning!
Mulder and Scully FTW!!!
Definitely, Norbit. Mulder was always the absolute protagonist, and the core of the show was about discovering aliens, the conspiracy, and what happened to Mulder’s sister.
They eliminated The Syndicate (the group working with the aliens) in season six, explained definitively what happened to Mulder’s sister and abducted Mulder at the end of season seven. That didn’t leave a whole lot for the last two seasons, especially given how atypically (for the show) they wrapped up so many plotlines.
I’ll stop myself there, because I could go on for a really, really long time.
