Near-final Vista SP1 goes public

The latest attempt at Vista Service Pack 1 is almost ready to go, but Microsoft is releasing it to the public anyway. According to a blog by ZDNet.com’s Mary Jo Foley, a Microsoft representative has mentioned that the release is still plagued by a “number of bugs that testers encountered in previous prerelease versions of SP1.”
For those brave or foolish enough to go for it before it’s officially finished, you can now download SP1 RC Refresh. Be prepared to uninstall any previous version of SP1 before installing the current one which may require “multiple reboots” of your system. After the reboots, you’ll be offline for an hour to “clean up and complete the uninstall.” Those of you with Vista RTM will have to update two or three times before even beginning this process.
One more word of caution from Microsoft:
On its Web site, Microsoft warned that it “does not recommend installing this software on primary or mission-critical systems.”
Install at your own risk.

I’ll wait for the final RC. Nothing on Vista is plaguing me that badly at the moment.
Plague, ya it is. How about fixing the Xbox 360 game controllers and allowing the use of XBCD drivers to take over. i have tried manual drivers to change. Vista forces itself on it always. Vista sucks, OSX is way better.
My Stepmania, Xbox 360 (Konami) dance pad, Xplorer guiter and frets on fire work better on OSX. Fix Vista or let us all roll back to XP. Xp works great, Vista is a waste. Id be ashamed to say Microsoft peripherals work better on OSX than Vista. its true. Stepmania, Guitar Zero both are bunk on vista in someway or anoter. WHAT A SHAME. Vista = Windows Me. Also the other 100 things I could post but everyone knows how usless this OS is.
