nab 2k92K Sports has revealed that their basketball title, NBA 2K9, is now available in retail stores for the PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 with all new adaptive AI and online features including “Team Up” for 5 on 5 matches. With signature styles for each player, enhanced broadcast interpretation in “2K-HD” and living rosters with current player ratings and moves, 2K has promised the most realistic basketball experience to date.

If the game is not enough to curb your appetite for simulated hoops, you can add a bit more of it to your life by participating online with “The Other Season“, which is an online fantasy league where gamers on PSN and Xbox LIVE get to play for NBA players actively participating as fantasy team owners. Players will be drafted into an NBA player’s NBA 2K9 fantasy teams, startedin October 28 so don’t be surprised if Chauncy Billups or Andre Iguodala happens to pick you. The winning team will have $10,000 donated to the NBA player’s charity of choice.

Additionally, 2K Sports have also announced some good news for PC by revealing that NBA 2K9 will be available for the PC come October 21. This the the first time the franchise has appeared on a Windows based system, and should deliver the same basketball simulation experience as the console versions.

Looks like basketball simulation will finally reach gamers on a “global scale” where hoop trash talk will not be limited to just console players anymore.

  1. It needs to be noted that the PC version of the game will require Steam since that’s a deal breaker for some prospective buyers like me.

Stephanie, you should come out of your cave more often because EA has made NBA Live games for the PC since the mid-1990’s. This isn’t the first basketball simulation for a platform other than a console by a long shot.

Once again Phil thank you for pointing out the obvious, you are such a gem… editing wise, the original read “looks like 2K’s basketball simulation…. blah effing blah blah effing blah”.

Gosh, I have missed you, where have you been? Hiding out in Little Rock?

I have done nothing but lie awake in bed each and every night during your absence and fantasize about your return… yearning for your sarcastic and malignant words to sting my heart and pummel my brain… for you to once again reach into my chest and rip out my soul and force me to watch as you devour it…. today, I finally have proof that there is indeed a God because you have come back to us…. I knew something wonderful was going to happen when I awoke this morning because the angels and doves were singing joyously and dancing about in the air… the clouds were smiling, a rainbow was cast across the sky, and little fluffy bunnies were playing in the yard…. thank you fates, thank you muses, thank you shitty editing, thank you Satan….

*suddenly throws up on the floor of her cave*

Yes, I once again pointed out your obvious stupidity. If you can’t take the heat, shutup and stay in your cave.

  5. Stephany says:

Oh Phil, you know you love me, or else you would not torture yourself so badly. As far as the heat goes… bring it on baby. I like it when it’s toasty  xxxxxx
