What’s the best way to attract young people these days? Of course the answer is video games. The National Guard Armory in Janesville, Wisconsin holds a gaming night once a week to attract potential recruits. The audio interview by Kyle Geissler can be found HERE. I think events like these are not only great recruitment tools, but also great for community awareness of the military.

The National Guard Armory in Janesville is bringing young people through the door with video games. A once a week video game night at the armory mostly attracts young men between the ages of 16 and 20. Guard officials in Janesville say this is part of their requirement to keep themselves open to the community. They say a few of the participants in the video game activities have enlisted. Others who attend the video game events say they have no intention of enlisting and feel no pressure to do so.
