Namco Bandai has announced plans to release its answer to Wii Fit; the Family Trainer game complete with Dance Mat for Europe. The game will be released as Active Life: Athletic World in the US. The dance mat takes a number from the DDR mats with middle controls for each foot.
Family Trainer will have you performing feats of “total body fitness” in fantastical settings. In addition to racing mine carts as in the picture above; players can go rafting on the river, jump over logs or skip ropes. The settings are whimsical such as fairytale worlds and zombie infested haunted houses.
The action is both multiplayer and single player for those self-conscious people who hate looking silly playing video games. There’s no word whether the trainers are programed to make you cry if you don’t perform to their satisfaction. Expect to see Family Trainer in stores this September.
